Lego Advent Calendar: Day 24 – The Grand Finale!

It’s here! It’s here! The last day of the Star Wars Lego Advent Calendar!

Even if today’s item is just a few pieces of Lego coal, I’d consider this year’s calendar a success. I’ll have the full rundown of the items (in order from worst to best) at the end of this article.

Enough talk.

Who is coming down that black chimney?

Santa Vader! (Or Darth Claus?)

It’s Santa Vader, complete with red cape and toy sack! He’s here!

His helmet comes off to reveal his zombie face, which is both creepy and amazing.

Luke was so happy to meet his dad! It was like the end of a terrible Hallmark Channel holiday movie!

Then Luke told his dad about Huck and Hank’s bullying.

So Vader choked them with the Force.

Then he said, “Luke…let me look at you…with my…own eyes.”

Luke said, “Scary face? No nose? You’re Voldemort!”

Then Vader made Luke do chores.

Now let’s take a look at this unwrapped box and see what Lego decided to spoil on the cover.

I’m so glad I didn’t look at the cover. By my count, the box reveals 15 items!!!

Here’s a look at what the inside of the box looks like if you unfold it.

All together, it looks pretty great.

Longtime readers may know that this is not my only Darth Vader themed Christmas decoration. I also have a candy cane wielding Vader and a Darth Vader snow globe in which he’s making a Death Star out of snow (and the snow globe plays “Winter Wonderland” of course).

Santa Vader is a worthy addition to this growing collection.

Speaking of collections…

Have you ever seen a more Christmas-y photo? Looking at this picture your heart swells and your can almost hear Silent Night playing in the distance. Merry Christmas.

Today is fantastic! I love it! And I love you for reading the blog this year!

Oh, and the final Avengers Calendar item was the Hulk’s fist, or maybe it was Santa’s fist?

Now let’s review all the items, listed here from worst to best. You may notice that placement on the list doesn’t always reflect the score I gave it on that day. I’m sorry, but not really.

24. M-Wing
This blue ship wasn’t terrible, which shows how great this calendar was all year. Still, something has to be last and this was certainly the least impressive.

23. The Tree/Moisture Vaporator
A bunch of stuff that almost, nearly, sorta looks like a robot Christmas tree.

22. Doug the Space Tank
The first ship in this calendar was nice when I got it, but compared to the other days, it was a dumb stupid crap thing.

21. Warren the Battle Droid
He’s not bad. Honest. I know it sounds insincere when I type “honest” after the statement. But it’s true. Honest. I just wish his thin legs supported him better…and that he was Mrs. Claus.

20. Yellow A-Wing
I still don’t know what this ship is.

19. The other Yellow Ship (Y-Wing?)
It beat out the other Yellow Ship because the afterburners can be used to make extra lightsabers.

18. Helmet and Gun Rack
Neat! Not much more to say about it.

17. Imperial Shuttle
I like that the wings fold on this robot-bird. I say that more than you’d think.

16., 15., and 14. (Three-way Tie!) Gun One Gun Two and Gun Three
Two of these guns actually shoot little tiny Lego things. Perfect for having a battle that ends when your friend says, “I lost all my bullets. This is dumb.” Then you win!

13. JoJo
She’s cool. I like her helmet.

12. Principal McMurphy
What a weirdo!

11. Hank Sunrunner
I love his helmet and his attitude.

10. Snowspeeder
Fire the toe-cable!

9. The Tie Fighter
It looks so cool!

8. Luke’s Landspeeder
It’s a great representation of the thing that it is.

7. Black Fireplace
As evil as it is charming.

6. Snowtrooper (Vance)
His helmet makes him look like a ghost. And he is the voice of logic regarding Star Wars mythology. I appercaite that, even if I think he needs to chill out and stop analzying everything. It’s only a story, Vance.

5. Huck Sunrunner
He came with a Santa hat

4. Luke Skywalker
He’s just a naive farm boy who grew up not knowing that his dad was evil or that his mom gave up living because she’s all like, “I can’t even.” For having a screwed up backstory, he is still happy and eager.

3. H0-H0 the Christmas Droid
Look at him! He’s perfect!

2. Speeder Bike
Love it! It has a bag for toys and a laser pistol. Perfect.

1. Santa Vader
There is no better ending to a Star Wars calendar. This makes me happy.
