You may ask, “Dan, what do you do with the Lego bricks after December?” And I answer with a sinister smile.
One possible reason the past year has been so off balance is that I obliterated the laws of physics using Lego. And now the gods are angry.
Behold!

I built this a few months ago.
This unholy sculpture is called a Tensegrity Structure. The push and pull of forces and tension make this balancing oddity possible. It’s a fun experiment to try. Easy too. Just get some Lego and some yarn or string. However, I’m sure befouling nature thusly summons evil and chaos. And for that, I am sorry.
Tensegrity is also cool because it sounds like a new, low-calorie snack food.
I hope today’s Lego Calendar item is as awe-inspiring as tensegrity!
It’s a Police Van!
It’s a nice addition to my fleet of Lego vehicles.
After taking the above photo, I realized I forgot the Christmas Boat. How could I forget the Christmas Boat?! HOW CAN ANYONE FORGET CHRISTMAS BOAT!?!
This year’s Lego Calendar is creating a fun world of wonder. It’s very epic and will only get epic-er.
One of the many things I love about He-Man is the artwork. In the 80s, the only way to sell barbarian toys was with thrilling fantasy artwork that grabbed hold of any 5-year-old’s brain and would not let go.
Here are a few examples from the He-Man artbook. (Which I recommend if you are at all interested in He-Man, of if you just love beauty.)
Look at this!
Are you seeing this?
Yes, that’s an cyborg elephant!
In the tradition of these paintings, I have created a scene as equally epic in scope and emotion.
It might not be as cool as the original art, but it does have a Robot Snowman. And CHRISTMAS BOAT!
Day 15 Rating: 2.9 out of 5 (Points deducted because enough already with the vehicles. Bring on the mini-models!)
See you tomorrow!
