2020 Lego Advent Calendar: Day Sixteen

A Nor’easter is approaching.

That’s what they call major snow storms up here in the north eastern region of the country. A Nor’easter. It’s a wildly inventive name. Not even Dr. Seuss himself could create such a nutty name!

We might get a foot of snow, which isn’t much but enough to keep everyone indoors for 24 hours. Snow day!

Though after a year of lockdowns, a single snow day is like baking a single cookie. The ingredients were already out. Might as well add one more to the batch.

Today’s Lego item is…

A Wild Woman!

See that blast of color in her hair? That’s how you know she’s wild.

She also wears a bandit mask and came with handcuffs.

Things are getting spicy.

Let’s name her Reese, and not because I am staring at a bag of miniature Reese’s cups.

Tangent: They changed the flavor of mini Reese’s cups. I can’t find concrete confirmation online, but there is enough online anecdotal evidence that leads me to believe the recipe has changed. Plus, I trust my tongue. It does not lie. Something is different.

At first I thought I was going crazy. And since loss of taste is a symptom of certain death, I was a little worried. But I’m not insane. The cups just taste different now.

It’s a flavor that’s hard to explain. They taste a little nuttier, a little less sweet. Less magical. More real. There’s just something off about them.

There has been no official word on the new flavor.

It makes me think that for decades we’ve been eating toxic peanut butter cups and only recently did the government crack down on the amount of poison you can put in candy. So now the cups don’t taste as good.

Have you noticed the new taste? It may only apply to the mini cups. If I learn more, I will let you know. What’s the best number to reach you?

Tangent Over

I like Reese’s jacket because it has a bomb on it.

Giles was excited to begin Operation: Hijinks with his new criminal partener. I don’t know the goal of Operation: Hijinks but to be safe, lock up your jewels and reset your WiFi password.

Maren arrested Reese on charges of disorderly hairdos and attempted hooliganism.

Luckily, He-Man is here to help Reese escape.

For reasons best left unsaid, He-Man has a lot of experience with chains and shackles and various bindings.

He says the secret to escaping chains is to do your homework and always wear a helmet when riding bicycles. He is so very helpful.

Day 16 Rating: 4.01 out of 5 (Points added for the splash of danger.)
