I just saw a report on CBS Sunday Morning about Lego attempting to switch from oil-based plastic to more sustainable alternatives, like plant materials.
If successful, future Lego Calendars could be sold as salad!
And what a delicious salad this year’s calendar is. It’s turning out to be one of the better toy calendars I’ve opened.
Will that continue as we enter the final week?
Let’s see! Today we get…
CUPCAKE CART!
It’s difficult o see in these pictures, but that’s a clear piece as the front window. Like all good clear pieces (and all clear pieces are good), this piece is like crystalline tears of joy wept from an angel. It’s so clear, and my photography skills so poor, that you may not even be able to see this window-of-life.
I love clear pieces so much that I am actively trying to change the official colors of Christmas from red and green to clear and translucent.
I love this cart. I also love cupcakes, but one of the forbidden horrors of having a beard is that eating cupcakes is really, really difficult without getting icing everywhere and coming away from the experience looking like a sugar-addicted hippy.
The cart was by far the most difficult build in this calendar, taking me much longer than expect to construct. There’s a lot going on here: Clear window piece. Wheels. Handles. Two telescope/trophies for support beams. An awning. AND CUPCAKES!
This isn’t an Advent toy; it’s an afternoon.
But best of all, those golden support beams can (and should!) become mighty pedestals for the gilded Lego Gnomes.
Day 16 Rating: 4.4 out of 5 (Points added for being fun to build.)
See you tomorrow!
This blog is brought to you by PowerPencils.com. Orders for Christmas must be in my hot little hands by this Tuesday or else your life will be ruined and Christmas will be just another day of ever-churning sadness and despair. No pressure.
