The Lego Calendar is a symphony, with each of the three weeks acting like a movement and Day 24 is the godly finale.
The first week/movement is a bombastic start to grab your attention. Weeks/movements 2 and 3 give you time to reflect on the themes established in the first. And everything comes together with Day 24. (Hey music students, use this as your thesis! It’s my gift to you!)
Thus far, the Lego calendar is performing a lovely symphony. I’m tapping my toe to the beat and humming the catchy tune. The symphony may turn dark, even atonal, but for now it’s upbeat and pleasant.
As we enter week 2, it’s time to relax in my seat, sit back and enjoy the nuance and subtext of this symphonic calendar.
Today we get…
A drone!
What a weird little thing.
I think the black piece with buttons is the remote, but once again, Quincy’s terrible, rotten, short and wretched dumb arms can’t hold the remote. He must control this potentially deadly aircraft with his feet.
Walter the Snowman was busy training Timberly in the poetic arts.
WALTER: Behold the drone. What does it say to you, Timberly? Describe its power, its agility, its insectoid body and sound. Feel the words flow within you! Harness that poetry and now describe this mechanized angel, using only a gerund!
TIMBERLY: Buzzing.
WALTER: You are the Shakespeare of our day, Timberly! Thank you for existing!
Meanwhile, I don’t know what Robot Snowman is up to, but I’m worried and intrigued.
Day 8 Rating: 3.3 out out of 5 (Points deducted because most Lego people can’t hold the remote.)
See you tomorrow!
