Lego Advent Calendar: Day 23

Two days. That’s it. Two perforated cardboard doors to tear open. Two Lego prizes to find. And then I will be without Lego until next December. I assume Advent Calendars end on the 24th day because the gift of the 25th day is Jesus and Love. Call me a heathen, but I’d prefer more Legos, or a Lego Jesus, than intangible feelings of spirituality and faith. Don’t mind me. I’m just pissed that there’s nothing to open on Christmas Day.

Today’s item is the Christmasiest item of the lot. It’s not Mrs. Claus in a bathtub, though that would be a splendid gift for tomorrow. Instead, it’s a…

Christmas Tree!

I love it, but this item should have been handed out on an earlier day for several reasons:

1. Christmas trees should be enjoyed all month.

2. You need a few days to build it. The tree is by far the most difficult item to construct. When I was finished with the tree structure, I tried to decorate it with the included Lego Dots, only to find that attaching them to the standing tree is just as possible as eating a garden hose. So I had to take the whole thing apart, attach the decorative dots, and then reassemble the tree. Then I needed a nap.

3. I wanted it earlier.

But it’s here now, and I’m thankful. So are the Goat children who were worried that this year they wouldn’t have a Christmas tree because Sword Boy was caught smoking in August and Cat Girl killed a homeless man earlier this year just to see what it was like. Kids will be kids, am I right?

The tree is of adequate height and the design is quite striking. However, maybe it’s just me, but does the tree look a little bare in that one spot? Hmm…What to do?

What to do?

There. That’s better.

And though I think the star on top is nice, surely a better tree topper can be found? Hmm…

Now that’s a Christmas Tree. And Naked Shower Santa has a wand! How cool is that? (The answer is: 500 Cool.)

Robot Snowman, feeling left out of Good World for the past few days, reclaims his head and threatens the tree with fire.

Not to worry. He only wanted to wear the tree as a hat so that the children would once again find him interesting. He’s so lonely.

Day 23 Rating: 3.7 out of 4 (Points deducted because building it hurt my fingers and my gums.)

Tomorrow is the final day of the Advent Calendar! Get some sleep. You’ll need it.
