2018 Lego Advent Calendar: Day 23

I’m not making gingerbread men. It’s not happening. The sooner we all come to terms with this, the better our holiday will be.

I am sorry.

I hope you appreciate my honesty. I could have lied and said I baked dozens of gorgeous gingerbread men and used a stolen photo from Pinterest as my proof. But with Santa watching, this is not a good time to lie.

Because I told the truth, in a very real way, I am a hero of Christmas.

And speaking of Christmas Heroes, let’s see what’s in the Lego Calendar Today! It’s…

A yellow helicopter with a rotor that does not spin!

It’s a nice yellow helicopter with a rotor that does not spin. It has lovely colors and even a clear piece, and a black rotor that does not spin.

The Lego Gods have gifted me a helicopter in a previous calendar. The rotor of that helicopter spun.

The 2018 helicopter rotor, however, does not spin. It’s just a regular Lego brick stuck on another brick permanently. It might look like it should spin. But it does not spin.

I’m not mad that this helicopter with a rotor that does not spin, does not have a spinning rotor. I’m just sayin’…

I was expecting a helicopter, as there is a helicopter landing pad on the playmat. And if they didn’t include a helicopter, even one with a rotor that does not spin, then this house just has a big H on the ground, which could stand for HELL GATE!

And that would have been a whole different (awesome!) calendar.

This helicopter with a rotor that does not spin is okay.

But the best news of the day: The Jetpack fits on the Robot’s back!

Hallilgha!

(I tried to spell hallelujah, but nobody really knows how to spell or say that word. I could have gone back and fixed it with spell-check, but that would be lying and Santa is watching. I’m the Hero of Christmas!)

Paired with a jetpack, Leland the Robot has become the robot I need and deserve.

The wind-up key even fits on the back of the jetpack and I’m so happy that I almost forgot the rotor of today’s helicopter does not spin.

Robot Snowman was a little jealous of Robot Leland. But, there’s only one thing that can break the ice.

Hair Swap!

Day 23 Rating: 1.002 out of 5 (Points deducted for reasons I can’t quite put my finger on. Just kidding. I can put my finger on it without fear of injury, because the rotor does not spin.)

The Big Finale is tomorrow! Grab a mug of cheer and sit by your computer for the next 24 hours eagerly awaiting the secret behind tomorrow’s door! (It’s probably Santa.)

This blog is brought to you by PowerPencils.com, an online magic pencil store. Rest assured, if the store also sold toy helicopters, the rotors of those choppers would spin with the grace and fluidity of an Olympic figure skater. Of this, I swear.
