See that photo? That’s me in my Yoda shirt. It doesn’t fit anymore or else I’d wear it to The Force Awakens.
I hope to see the movie Sunday. The plan is that my girlfriend and I will head over to the theater on Saturday, to see what the ticket situation is like. I figure tonight is sold out, and it’s probably sold out Friday and Saturday too, but I hope we have a shot to see it Sunday afternoon.
I guess that means I’m old. SHUT UP!
I don’t understand why everyone if falling over themselves to post reviews of the movie. The movie is review-proof. I also remember that when The Phantom Menace was released, the first reviews were generally positive. While we all know that movie is terrible in ways best described as a flavor, and that flavor is stale tomato soup, at first everyone liked it. I think we were Star Wars drunk. And that’s probably happening now, too.
It takes a while for a true opinion of a Star Wars movie to sink in. You have to let it live in your mind for a month or two.
These early reviews, which seem generally positive, don’t mean a thing.
But we have more important things to discuss — today’s Lego item, which is…
A Rebel in Snow Gear!
We’re a little heavy on the dudes, so I’m officially declaring that this is a female rebel.
Her name is Nova Windratchet, and she’s been fighting the Empire for the past 40 years, with no signs of slowing down. She’s classy, but also has the mouth of a sailor and will punch anyone she damn well wants. She also worries about kids who run around with untied shoes. Keep your shoes tied, kids!
See those goggles on Nova’s helmet? Yeah…they come off!
She also sports a backpack, that with a little imagination can be turned into a jetpack — and I have gallons and gallons of imagination.
Nova introduced herself to the guys, who tried to act cool. Then she made an X-rated joke about a horny elephant and a bantha, and then everyone relaxed. Also, I don’t know why A.J. is wearing Frisco’s hat. That just happens sometimes.
Nova tossed her extra pair of snow goggles to the ground and said, “They’re up for grabs, boys.”
And then there was a three-hour fight.
Stickles won, because he bites. He can’t really wear the goggles, so he improvised with tape. Ewoks are good at making things.
Day 17 Rating: 4 out of 5 (Points added for the extra goggles.)
