Last night I watched The Empire Strikes Back. My favorite moment might be the double-take Vader does at the end, after the Millennium Falcon makes the jump to hyperspace. It’s barely two seconds long, but it’s great.

Yesterday’s item wasn’t exactly a dud, but I hope something extra-magnificent comes out of the door today.

Today’s item item is…

IG-88!

I think this is assassin droid IG-88. He’s my third favorite bounty hunter. Boba Fett is No. 2, and the best bounty hunter of them all is Dengar! Dengar is the chubby one with a diaper on his head. He’s the best. The day he pops out of this calendar would be the most magical Advent day since Naked Shower Santa taught us all to believe.

But IG-88 is cool too.

Of course, Stickles nearly hurt himself trying to worship the new droid. Meanwhile, Frisco thought about buying a Christmas present for his ex-girlfriend Theresa, just in case she gets something for him. It’s not like he’s going to send it to her. She has to make the first move.

And then IG-88 performed the vocals to Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy,” and everyone wept.

Day 13 Rating: 3.4 out of 5 (Points deducted because he’s skeletal and doesn’t stand up very well.)
