It snowed! We didn’t get a lot of snow this morning, but enough to make everyone hibernate for twelve hours. SNOW DAY!
As an added bonus, today’s Lego item is…well…
Good things come to those who wait. While today’s item is not a Mrs. Claus, what lived behind door #10 of the Lego Advent Calendar has been an item long desired. It is the Lego creation I coveted from the first time I saw my very first Lego calendar box.
To say more would ruin the surprise.
It’s a Sausage Girl!
In my first Advent Calendar post back in 2010, I wrote, “Each day in December, I will open and reveal the bricky goodness inside. And each day, I will be hoping to get the ‘Sausage Girl’ figure.”
That year’s calendar did not have an authentic Sausage Girl as picture on the box. It did contain sausage, and a girl, but these items came on different days. As such, Christmas was almost ruined.
But now? Now I have a real, genuine Sausage Girl! And she comes with enough extra pieces to last eight lifetimes!
Her name is Trudy Tinsel Evergreen. She is a firefighter. She has sausage. She’s glad to meet you.
She has three sausages! Three!
She has three wrenches. Three!
She has two fire extinguishers. Two!
And one extra fire extinguisher top. Top!
And one extra firefighter hat! Extra!
I gave her the neckerchief because I’m a gentleman.
Trudy has been stuck in the calendar for ten days, so naturally she was hungry. As she roasted the sausage, Mickey, who has been drinking, sidled up to her.
He said something about how great the Omega Trophy is, and asked if she wanted to see how high he could do a backflip. Trudy wasn’t interested. Mickey said, “Hey! Hey, you! Your parents must have been um…up there…because you…you’re like a star of the sky. Wanna hold hands! I’m good at it!”
Then Donald, who has been drinking, saw what was happening and tried to swoop in. He told Trudy, “You must’ve fell down face-first into the pretty pile!” I don’t know what that means. Neither did Trudy.
Uh-oh! A love triangle has formed! If Trudy were a teenager and it was her first year at a new school, this would make for a Lego YA Fiction Advent Calendar.
Only problem: Trudy doesn’t care about Donald or Mickey. And she’s already self-confident and independent. She’s the opposite of YA Fiction.
Donald and Mickey then fought over Trudy.
Meanwhile, Super Snowman offered Trudy some pizza and chicken.
Is this a love connection?
Trudy let Super Snowman try on her extra helmet. Ooooooooh!
Donald and Mickey stopped fighting, hugged it out, and then to show how strong their friendship was, they exchanged hats. They became “hat brothers.” I guess that’s a thing.
Day 10 Rating: 5 out of 5 (Points added because this is the day!)
