It’s the halfway point of the calendar. I’m happy with the results thus far. There have been no over-the-top extraordinary surprises in the calendar. But the only real duds have been the gift boxes, and those are part of the Lego Christmas tradition so I can’t get mad at them.
They are the dry, stale cookies of the calendar; it just wouldn’t be Christmas without them.
Good job, Lego. Keep it up.
Today’s item is…
A Train!
It’s another calendar regular, but this one is so teeny-tiny that I love it. And the caboose? [chef’s kiss]
It also comes with enough extra pieces to make an entire new train car. And a bonus clear piece? [barber’s kiss]
Now, the downside. There is nothing holding the engine and the cars together. There’s no chain or tether or snappy brick. The wheel things don’t connect to each other.
It seems like a misstep. Usually Lego pieces all fit together brilliantly. But this train is held together by imagination. (And tape, if you lack imagination.)
Bo-Bo tried to join the cars, but failed miserably.
Oh well. I’ll trade connectivity for a caboose any day.
Day 12 Rating: 3.2 out of 5 (Points added for thee caboose.)
See you tomorrow!
