Lego Advent Calendar: Day 16

Today is my brother’s birthday. I didn’t get him a present because I’ll be buying him a Christmas present, and so…there ya go. Don’t blame me. Blame my parents for having a baby days before Christmas. Stop looking at me like that!

Fine.

Out of guilt, I will be giving him whatever item comes out of the calendar today. No, I’m not saying this just because today’s item is lame. I would give him the item no matter what popped out, even if it were a Lego Sea Serpent. Thankfully, today’s item wasn’t a Lego Sea Serpent. It was…

A Lego Sofa!

Happy birthday, Dave. Hope you like it.

The Lego Sofa is red…and it’s a sofa. Technically, it’s a love seat, but if you’re going to get technical about the nomenclature of furniture, you and I will never be friends.

It’s a strange item because the only people who can sit on it are the Lego Adults. Sword Boy and Cat Girl lack waists, so they can either stand on the sofa (for which they would be punished), or watch as their parents have all the fun. Though at first glance it appears to be able to fit two Lego Butts, this sofa was really made for one person.

It took five hours of hard work and arm adjustments to squeeze both Mr. Ice Face and Cynthia the Bread Lady in the sofa. They don’t look comfortable.

All in all, this item was a bust. But I hope my brother will love it. He’s an engineer who makes lasers and uses words like “photonics” and “thank you.” I’m sure he can rearrange the molecules of this sofa to somehow discover a new planet or make fuel.

Day 16 Rating: 1.4 out of 4. (Points deducted because the sofa only adds to the family’s tension.)

Bonus Creation: I made a Robot/Snowman/Human hybrid that I call Thomas. (Pronounced with a hard “th” sound, like “think” or “thong.”)
