Dan’s Deviled Egg Bar<\/strong><\/p>\n

One Sentence Pitch:<\/strong>
\nImagine a self-serve frozen yogurt restaurant, but instead of yogurt, out comes deviled egg filling. <\/p>\n

Detailed Concept:<\/strong>
\nDeviled eggs are delicious, but who has the time? And you can\u2019t simply make one<\/em> deviled egg, or even two — you usually need to make at least a dozen and if you\u2019re alone, you end up throwing three of those eggs away because you\u2019re full. <\/p>\n

Dan\u2019s Deviled Egg Bar<\/em> will offer customers the convenience and efficiency of single-serve deviled eggs ready whenever the egg-appetite strikes. No more wasted eggs or kitchen messes. At Dan\u2019s Deviled Egg Bar<\/em>, we do all the work…and more!<\/p>\n

\u201cHow does it work?\u201d<\/em> <\/p>\n

Glad you asked. Customers enter the store and order deviled eggs. The Egg-spert (customer associate) hands the customer a molded silicone tray containing as many egg halves as the customer indicated. The egg halves are empty…for now.<\/p>\n

The Egg-spert than walks the customer to the Flavor Bar, where up to 17 varieties of egg filling can be selected via self-serve machine. Pull the handle, out comes deviled egg filling! Flavor fillings include: Plain, Spicy Nacho, Extra-Mayo, The Pennsylvanian, and Grape, along with a rotating roster of seasonal flavors such as Pumpkin Spice, Honey Ham, and Mint. There will also be daily specials, such as “Devil in a Blue Dress,” which is raspberry and “Duck and Cover” which is a duck egg covered in assorted gravy. <\/p>\n

Customers can fill their egg halves with one or more flavors. Add a little…or a lot! It\u2019s all the same price. (We\u2019ll make up the difference in cost using economics.) <\/p>\n

Filling your own deviled eggs is fun. Topping them is even better!<\/p>\n

Customers take their filled egg halves to the \u201cCoop\u201d which is our name for the toppings bar. Here, customers select from topping such as chopped onion, paprika, grapefruit zest, more mayonnaise, dried apple, honey-roasted raisins, pretzel salt, sriracha, bacon bits, Fruity Pebbles, ice water, oregano, 10-cheese blend, or figs. Of course, we\u2019ll also offer a variety of candy pieces for those making dessert eggs. And yes, there will be sauces and gravies such as chicken gravy and both hot and cold fudge!<\/p>\n

Toppings are free! (Though there will be an upcharge if customers choose crab meat or Marshmallow Peep.)<\/p>\n

Each deviled egg costs $4. Every 13th egg is free if you have a punch card. If you don’t have a punch card, the 13th egg costs a little extra. (As part of our unique marketing program to push punch card participation.) <\/p>\n

The combo meal deal includes a medium drink and side of dippers (tiny crackers in the shape of spoons). <\/p>\n

Add-Ons:<\/strong>
\nAlong with Dan\u2019s Deviled Eggs, we will also offer fountain sodas, coffee, tea, bottled water and Egg Shakes (whipped egg plus whole milk blended to desired consistency). For those with egg allergies, we will provide gluten-free \u201cpotat-eggs\u201d which are raw potatoes carved to look like egg halves. Fill \u2018em up just as you would one of our regular eggs! <\/p>\n

Marketing Campaign:<\/strong>
\nThe ad slogan will be, \u201cDon\u2019t just picnic…Pick Dan! At Dan\u2019s Deviled Egg Bar, it\u2019s always summer!\u201d And the commercial will star a reunited cast of Cheers<\/em> to really play to the nostalgia crowd. <\/p>\n

The Future:<\/strong>
\nWe’ll expand into other so-called picnic foods like tepid macaroni salad and warm fruit salad. <\/p>\n
