I made another unnecessary trip to the Lego Store. Had to. The world I am creating needs its own Lego mat and walls. The calendar comes with a printed cardboard mat, featuring a snow scene, but the pieces slide off too easily. I need a Lego mat. I could use the green mat I got last year, but then the Goat family will have no floor.
I’ve been asked if the Goats will make an appearance this year, and the answer is yes, but not yet. More on that later.
Right now I’m focusing on the 2011 Lego World. This burgeoning town needs a name, and that name is: Barbaria.
My girlfriend and I drove 100 miles round trip to the nearest Lego Store just so I could pick the right bricks needed to create the town of Barbaria.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to…BARBARIA!
Let me give you the tour.
You’ll notice the lovely blue skies and fresh air. You may spot a passing cloud or two. And growing majestically in the distance is a sturdy oak tree. Up on top of the sky, you will see two antenna.
Don’t ask why the antenna are there or what they do. You will not like the answer.
And then I bought a giant bag of fake snow.
This large bag is the size of a pillow. I placed a quarter to the right for a sense of scale. Let me know if you need any fake snow, as I will surely have lots left over.
Since I only paid $2 for enough fake snow to decorate Texas, I’m not going to ask why it’s called Buffalo Snow.
On to today’s treasure!
It’s a cop! Finally, Barbaria will have some sense of order!!
The cop has a killer smirk on his face, and that’s why I’m calling him Officer Champ Gutpunch. First name: Champ. Last name: Gutpunch.
Champ is a former Marine, spy, boxer, astronaut, miner, and antiques dealer who decided to use his unique skill set to fight crime on a local level.
Champ comes with two sets of handcuffs because the town of Barbaria is a two-handcuff kinda of town.
Or maybe he’s kinky.
Anyway, he’s about to make short work of Jerry “The Walrus” Callahan. Even armed with the snowball launcher, The Walrus is no match for Champ Gutpunch.
Go, Champ! Go!
I added the snow.
It looks more like a foam party than a town rife with crime and mayhem.
Not sure if I like it.
What do you think? Snow or no snow?
Day 3 Rating: 3 out of 4 (Points deducted because he has no swords and there’s a very real chance he’s corrupt).
